Damage assessment

Do I need to schedule an appointment for a damage inspection?

In order to repair your car, we’ll first assess what needs to be fixed. You can easily complete a digital damage assessment right here on our website and send it to us, or schedule an appointment at a repair shop. The damage assessment at a repair shop takes about 20 minutes. During the inspection, we’ll assess the extent of the damage, provide a cost estimate, and supply the necessary information to your insurance company. At the same time, we’ll schedule an appointment for the actual repair.

Does Werksta work with my insurance company?

Yes, Werksta works with all insurance companies. In order for you to receive compensation, your insurance company needs a claim form.

Haven’t had a chance to file a claim yet? No problem—we’ll help you with that when you come in for the damage inspection. If you’ve already filed a claim, just let us know which insurance company you’re with. We’ll then send all the necessary information and our assessment of the repair directly to them.

Authorized auto repair shop

Which car brands does Werksta repair?

Werksta is a collision repair shop that works with all insurance companies and car brands. We are also an authorized Tesla repair shop in Sweden. Contact our customer service center or your local repair shop to find out specifically which car brands they can assist with. We always follow the manufacturer’s instructions in our work, which means that your car’s original warranty is always preserved.

Does my car’s manufacturer’s warranty apply at Werksta?

Yes, it does. The professional damage repair technicians at Werksta ensure that your car is repaired exactly according to the automaker’s repair guidelines. We are very committed to ensuring that your car’s safety, functionality, and durability remain the same as they were before it was damaged. We offer a warranty on all our repair work.

What is a vehicle damage warranty?

A vehicle damage warranty is included when you buy a new car in Sweden—the general agents offer a warranty that is valid for three years from the car’s date of first registration. The general agent is the entity that represents the car manufacturer in the country and holds the exclusive right to sell that car brand.

Just like with insurance, there’s a deductible in your warranty. It can vary by car brand, so check with your car brand’s dealer to find out what applies to your specific car model.

The vehicle damage warranty covers damage resulting from traffic accidents, vandalism, and other external incidents (such as a tree or branch falling on your vehicle). You should always receive a warranty certificate when you buy a new car, which specifies how long the warranty is valid. Treat the warranty certificate as a valuable document and keep it in a safe place.

Windshields

How soon should I have a chip in my windshield repaired?

You should repair a chip in your windshield as soon as possible. Temperature changes and vibrations can cause the damage to develop into a crack.

How long does it take to repair a stone chip?

It usually takes about 30 minutes.

Which stone chips can be repaired?

Most stone chips can be repaired, but not if they are too large, too close to the edge of the windshield, or have caused cracks. Our technicians always inspect your windshield to determine whether a repair is possible.

We can repair 1–3 stone chips that are:

  • Up to 5 cm in size
  • At least 3 cm from the edge of the window
  • Not sitting in front of the camera
How long does it take to replace a windshield?

Replacing a windshield usually takes one business day, provided we have the correct information about the car model and any special features in advance. If you drop off your car in the morning, you can usually pick it up later that same day.

How much does it cost to repair or replace a windshield?

If your auto insurance includes glass coverage, windshield repairs may be completely free for you—that is, your insurance company will pay for the entire repair—depending on which insurance company you have. Without glass coverage, windshield repair at Werksta costs 750 SEK, and repair of each chip costs 400 SEK per chip.

If you have comprehensive insurance or glass coverage for your car, you’ll only pay the deductible for the windshield replacement. If you’re paying for the windshield repair or replacement yourself, we’ll provide you with a cost estimate during the damage inspection. The price of the new windshield depends on the glass model and other features, such as camera technology and heating capabilities.

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes, we work with all insurance companies and will assist you throughout the entire claims process.

Service

What’s included in a manufacturer-recommended service?

An original service means that we use only genuine parts approved by the vehicle manufacturer. This ensures that the car retains its quality, performance, and warranties.

What does a troubleshooting session involve?

A diagnostic service includes reading the diagnostic codes and 1–3 measurements to identify the problem with your car.

  • In the event of an electrical fault: We connect diagnostic equipment, read error codes, perform symptom-based troubleshooting, and carry out simple wiring tests and functional checks.
  • In the event of mechanical malfunctions: We perform a test drive, a mechanical inspection, a lift inspection, and listen for any unusual noises.
What is the mobility guarantee, and how do I get it?

The Mobility Guarantee means that we ensure your car runs properly between service visits.

You’ll receive a mobility guarantee by following the manufacturer’s service schedule and having your vehicle serviced at an authorized service center.

How long does a service take?

The time required depends on the scope of the work. Troubleshooting is usually completed within a day. Service work typically takes a few hours, but may take longer for more extensive tasks, such as replacing a timing belt.

How much does it cost?

The cost depends on the work to be done. We’ll always provide you with a quote before we get started, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. We won’t begin any work without your approval.

Is it covered by the warranty?

If the problem is covered by the warranty, the cost may be covered in full or in part. We’ll help you check what applies to your specific car.

Until the warranty is confirmed, additional costs may apply. If the issue involves a recall by the manufacturer, the repair is always free of charge.
